Trump traveled to North Carolina, spoke briefly with reporters after landing in Charlotte and delivered a campaign rally in Gastonia. Three complete transcripts, the dated public-post archive and later fact-checking produced 16 non-duplicate attributable claims that could be responsibly assessed: three Supported, eight False, three Misleading and two Unresolved. Election and Census records support his six North Carolina primary-and-general wins, the 2025 household-income record and the decline in official poverty. Court, disaster-response, travel-history, crime, credit-rating, labor and energy records contradict or materially qualify his claims about Roy Cooper, DeCarlos Brown Jr., Willie Horton, his post-Helene visit timing, statewide crime, job forecasts, national credit and the duration represented by 65 billion barrels of oil. Public records do not yet reproduce the administration's federal-enforcement totals or the Republican convention's claimed 100 million views.

What the evidence supports
Trump won North Carolina six times when his 2016, 2020 and 2024 Republican primaries and general elections are counted.
North Carolina's certified and historical election records show Trump winning the Republican presidential primary and the statewide presidential vote in each of 2016, 2020 and 2024. The six-contest count is supported, although it combines party primaries with general elections.

Trump received more votes in 2024 than any candidate in North Carolina history.
Certified 2024 results show Trump receiving about 2.90 million votes for president, while Josh Stein received about 3.07 million votes for governor on the same statewide ballot. Trump set a North Carolina presidential-candidate record, but not the record for any candidate in state history.

Roy Cooper released 3,500 inmates, including some of the nation's worst murderers and violent criminals.
A court-approved COVID-era settlement did lead to roughly 3,500 people leaving prison through early release, sentence credits, home confinement or parole. But North Carolina resisted broader releases, more than 90% of those released early were already due to complete their sentences by the end of 2021, and the group was not simply 3,500 murderers and violent offenders. The total has a factual basis; Trump's description materially distorts who was released and why.

North Carolina had become one of the most violent and worst states in the nation because of Cooper.
FBI-derived 2024 data place North Carolina's violent-crime rate about 5% above the national average, but roughly in the middle of the states and District of Columbia rather than among the worst. State data also show violent crime fell in 2024. Those figures cannot support either the national superlative or simple gubernatorial causation.

Roy Cooper did absolutely nothing after Hurricane Helene, and recovery did not begin until January 20, 2025.

On his first day out, Willie Horton raped and murdered repeatedly and killed three women.
Horton had been serving a life sentence for one murder when he failed to return from a 1986 furlough. In Maryland the following year he raped a woman, assaulted her fiance and committed kidnapping and armed robbery; the victims survived. The record does not show three women murdered on his first day out or during the furlough escape.
